Elmwood girls take on leadership roles—challenging themselves and stepping out of their comfort zones. Whether it's student government, Junior School students organizing exhibitions or Middle School students planning a recreational day for their peers, these girls lead by example—showing spirit, enthusiasm and passion for the school.
Leadership roles are also readily available through our House system. Houses choose a programme of social service each year and are responsible for planning and carrying out fund-raising activities in support of their chosen charities.
Elmwood supports opportunities for students to develop teamwork, communication and leadership skills in a challenging and fascinating environments. Examples include:
- Me to We Kenya Trip: Highlights include building a school/water project in a rural Kenyan village; visiting Maasai and Kipsigis people.
- Run for the Cure Campaign: Numerous coordinated events; Elmwood has been top fundraising school in region for the last ten years.
- International Night: A celebration of cultural diversity benefitting Child Haven, dedicated to helping women and children around the world in need of food, shelter, healthcare and education.
