Deputy Head, Senior School

Founded in 1915, Elmwood School is the pre-eminent all-girls’ school in Canada’s capital. An independent International Baccalaureate day school for outstanding girls from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12, we offer a rigorous academic university preparatory program. Our mission is to inspire each girl to reach her full potential.

Elmwood School is seeking a visionary and innovative Deputy Head, Senior School to start August 2012. Suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic candidates are invited to apply for this senior leadership position. This is an exciting opportunity for a gifted leader to manage the Senior School (Grades 9-12) with a particular focus on the quality of teaching and learning.

Reporting to the School’s Head, and as a member of a Senior Leadership Team, the Deputy Head will oversee the Senior School academic program, university counseling, Senior School student life, the whole school timetable, academic budgeting and student information and reporting.

Expertise in an all-girls environment and an ability to teach a subject specialism to International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme standard will be particularly useful. A strong background in technology integration and learning management systems would also be an asset. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the School’s rich co-curricular program.
